I will try to be there on Saturday. I have an all day board meeting/retreat for the Film Festival so, it is up to that schedule. Although, the Chamber cannot endorse canditates, you know you have my personal support!

I am pleased to announce that I am co-hosting a fundraiser for
Commissioner Michael Gongora this Wednesday at Shore Club. It will be
in the brand new space above the famous Red Room of Sky Bar. I have
attached the invitation and hope you can all join me.
I have always financially contributed to many local campaigns
supporting Commission and Mayoral candidates because I feel it is very
important. However, this is the very first time I have hosted a
fundraiser. I chose to do it this time because Michael was the only
candidate in the last election that came to me and asked to walk the
neighborhood, was genuinely interested in our neighborhood, and stopped
by several of our membership meetings. He has stepped up to the plate
and supported every commission vote regarding anything to do with
Collins Park. Now that he has someone opposing him for the upcoming
election, I felt it was even more important for me to say how much i
have appreciated Michael's attentiveness and to let him know that by
co-hosting this event. If you have a commissioner who is doing a great
job, you must support those efforts so he or she will be re-elected and
can continue to do what they have started until they become term
limited. For that reason, I ask you to join me and thank Michael for
his contributions to Collins Park and this City during his first year
and insure he get re-elected as Group 5 Commissioner.

MIAMI BEACH FIRE AND POLICE ANNOUNCE ENDORSEMENTS

The 200 firefighter members of the International Association of Firefighters (Miami Beach Local 1510) and the 400 members of the Fraternal Order of Police (Miami Beach Lodge 8) announced their endorsements for Mayor and three City Commission seats.

Firefighter Union President Adonis Garcia and Police Union President Robert Jenkins stated, “we the firefighters and police of Miami Beach are proud to officially endorse your future leaders of the City of Miami Beach. We endorse and support for Mayor, Simon Cruz and for City Commission seats, Luis Salom, Elsa Urquiza and Michael Gongora”. We will be more active than ever before and hope that the residents of Miami Beach will put their trust in those with whom they entrust with their lives on a daily basis.
